Mall

This was our excursion to the mall. Jason was a trooper and went up and down the escalators with Keira. We have lived her for almost 9 months now and this was my first time ever stepping foot in the mall here.

Zoo

We decided that with how crazy everything gets we needed to start having more family time. So on Fridays we do something as a family. Whether it be a picnic, the park, riding escalators, or whatever we do something. This last friday we went to the zoo. We saw a lot of different animals and it was a lot of fun (until it got over 100 degrees), but we got in about 2 hours of fun before we had to call it quits so we wouldn't die of a heat stroke.

They had a little petting zoo where you could feed and pet the animals. Jason was super excited for it, but the girls not so much. Hallie balled after a goat ate some food off her hand.
Keira didn't cry, but she was really uncomfortable. She looked like she would feed them at first, but everytime they got close she would drop the food. Finally Jason had to force her to keep her hand still.

Drawing

Hallie was up at the table yet again, but at least she was doing something productive. Keira had gotten down from coloring so she got up. Next thing I know I see her scribbling away on a piece of paper. This is her first time coloring/drawing...
her masterpieceLately these two have decided they like to draw with each other. Hallie's cognitive development seems to be taking off, interaction between these two has become so much more fun. Finally, I must express my love for back to school. Not only will the parks, stores, library, etc be less crowded here in a few weeks (WOOHOO), but at the store there are aisles and aisles of glue, glue sticks, scissors, crayons, markers, and pencil boxes which were only a quarter to seventy cents. So thank you back to school at least one my little artists will enjoy these supplies for the months to come...

Toy Story 3

While Jason was studying for his Chemistry final (about a week and a half ag0), the girls and I headed off to Grandma and Grandpa Pyfer's house. Grandma had gotten some movies tickets from work and she was nice enough to let us have them. So Keira and I had our first little mommy daughter date. We went and watched Toy Story 3. She absolutely LOVED it! What more could a girl ask for....she had a juice box....

popcorn...
3D glasses (she managed to keep these puppies on her face all but the last 20 minutes)...

and of course she got to watch a cool show. This was my first 3D movie and Keira's first time to the movie theatre. We had lots of fun! Thanks Grandma.

Fourth of July

We went over to Jason's sister's house for Fourth of July. Everyone had a lot of fun. (I love seeing these two together.)
Pop its were a big hit with all the kids.
Hallie played a little, but she ended up going to bed.
Everyone ate ice cream....
Keira managed to get it up her nose.
There were plenty of sparklers. Keira threw them down a couple of times because she felt a spark and got scared.
And of course there were fireworks.

The Pool

Hallie got a pool for her birthday. We figured she would like it because she loves the bathtub and this thing looked like it would be a lot of fun. So I get it blown up and put a hose in it. We go out to check on it and a big dog is out there. Both Hallie and Keira are scared to death. I get the dog away and check the water. It is ice cold. So I go in and get some big pots of water boiling. I have the girls sit in their chairs and I go dump two things of water in the pool. A little warmer, but not much. I turn around and the dog is back and it is trying to get in our house (I had the door open). I scared it away and started boiling water again. I Dumped the water in and I think whatever it isn't too bad. So I throw the kids in and Hallie hates it. It wasn't all nice and toasty like her bath tub and she was scared. I take her out and let her play on the grass. Next thing I know I look over and that dog is back getting in Hallie's face. I grab her, she is freaking out, and at this point I wanted to kick the dumb dog.
Keira on the other hand liked the pool, but it was too cold for her and she didn't swim long enough to make all the effort worth while. Leaving it out so the water would warm some more wasn't an option because of the scary dog. I'm sure I'd come out and see it jumping around in there or something. So I let the air and water out of it, dried it up, packed it in the box, and back to the store it went.

Everytime I Turn Around

Hallie has made a new discovery...the table, but not just the table the fact that she can climb up the chairs to get on top. She has become pretty obsessed, so, everytime I turn around I see this...
Or this....
As long as all of the chairs are pushed up to the table she can't get up, but she is still determined to find a way. She is stuck and can't get out. Her best chance of getting on the table, now, is when Keira is sitting in a chair.
But, if she is not doing that than she is doing something like this...

Last Month

We have had quite a bit happen this last month. Jason took his personal trainers test from NASM and passed. So now he is a certified personal trainer. I got a job as a night auditor. I had two weeks of training that were really tough because I was working so many shifts, but now I am on my normal schedule Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so it has been nice. Hallie is getting allergy tested next week. When we washed Hallie up from her birthday, we noticed that her skin was red and swollen. It showed up everywhere the frosting had touched her skin. So we will see what happens with her tests. Hopefully it won't turn out too bad. Keira is doing good. She has just been busy playing.

Hallie's Birthday (June 24th)

We went to the store and I let Hallie pick out what birthday cake she wanted. I made the mistake of letting her hold it while we were wandering around the store. I think it was Jason that noticed, but she was eating through the box (kind of sad because she ate about as much of the box as she did the cake).
She opened her presents and loved loved loved her glow worm. (she also got a blow up pool that we ended up taking back...I'll do a post on that whole ordeal).
She wasn't sure about the candles. My mom ended up having to hold her hands because she had some close calls with trying to touch it...
The cake on the other hand she didn't want to touch. After some coaxing we got her to taste it. All she would do was stick her little finger in the icing and then put it in her mouth.
Jason wanted to get the show on the road, so he put her hands in it. She didn't like that at all.
Then he tried to get her to do pick-a-boo (anything really) to get messy and she wouldn't. She didn't want that stuff all over her. So he helped her get into it. She was really upset.
Jason's final attempt was to let her get him messy and then maybe should would do it too. Nope she got him messy and then she was done.

Poor Little Face

This is Jason scrunching Keira's face up. They both think it is funny. I on the other hand feel sad for that little face. It looks like it hurts and has to be damaging that perfect little skin, but there is not much I can do so....
