Cookies For Santa (December 24)

The girls helped my make some cookies for Santa and then we needed to decorate them. I helped Hallie with a cookie. She kept wanting to eat it so I snatched it away and gave her a different one to decorate.

She promptly shoved it in her mouth...no way was she going to have to wait again for a cookie.

Keira decorated most of the cookies. She did a good job, but the bags started popping open and the icing was dripping out. None the less she kept on decorating.

Then she needed a cookie

After they were done munching we dumped on some sprinkles.

Then they were done

We picked out three cookies for Santa and put them on a plate for him.

Hallie

Here is a look into the personality of this little girl. Hallie thrives on making people laugh and it just comes naturally to her. She seems to know exactly what to do and when to do it. The sound of laugher gets her coming back for more and she is not afraid to really ham things up. Whether she will maintain this quality I don't know, but even with her major mood swings she still manages to keep us smiling.

Keira's Birthday (December 12)

Keira turned 3. I can't believe how big she is getting. I keep telling her she can't grow up, but she just won't listen. She just tells me I have to grow up mommy. So I made her promise me that she can grow up as long as she stays sweet and loves her mommy and daddy always. After she promised I told her that I would remind her every year of her promise.... Grandma Kohler came down to enjoy Keira's Birthday with us. It was a fun day for her. She got to go to nursery (which she LOVES), skip a nap, have her Grandma Kohler come, open presents, and eat cake. When Keira opened presents she got to this one and was extatic to see the box...she had no idea what was inside (I wonder what was going through that little mind).
We decided she could do a messy cake and then a regular cake. With her messy cake she wasn't allowed to use forks (something I think we will make them do every year). Of course daddy couldn't resist himself.
The frosting was all up her nose and she started to cry...

but her revenge was sweet.

Jumpin Place (December 11)

Keira wanted to go to the "Jumpin Place" for her birthday. It's a new business that just came into town that has huge trampolines and blow up jump around equipment. We opted to just do the blow up equipment and they had tons of fun.

We convinced Keira to go down face first and this slide was probably the worse one to try that on...it was by far the steepest.

Christmas Tree (November 29)

For family home evening we put up our Christmas tree. The girls really liked how it looked all lite up.

Here is what Keira thought about the stockings...

Christmas Party (December 4)

We went to our ward Christmas party and Santa was there. Keira was excited to see him until we got close. Then it was the same as last year...her face turned bright red and I had to drag her up there. When asked what she wanted for Christmas she muttered with strain in her voice something unrecognizable (which I could only think to have been toy). Later, when Jason asked her what she told Santa she said proudly I told him I wanted a big girl bike (I just laughed and as she walked away to her friends I told him what really happened). Hallie on the other hand flat out cried and clung for dear life to me. She wanted nothing to do with the strange man sitting in the chair. I peeled her away from me just long enough to get a picture of the sad scene.

Babies

This is my sister's baby. Both the girls love love love little babies. We were at my mom's for thanksgiving and they were constantly giving her kisses and trying to play with her.
And there is something about Jason Grace really likes...

Let It Snow! Let it Snow! Let It Snow!

We went up to Rupert and Twin Falls during Thanksgiving and it dumped a ton of snow while we were up there. We suited the girls up and pushed them out the door. Hallie was terrified. She plopped herself down at the door and cried.
Keira, on the other hand, has been wanting to do snow angels and jumped right in...
and when she wasn't rolling around in it she was eating it. Yuck especially since I shoveled up some dog poop while I was helping Grandma Pyfer with the driveway.
Once we got home it ended up dumping a ton of snow in Boise. So we were out again for some snowy fun. Daddy did a big snowball.
A baby snowman and big snow man were made. (The neighborhood kids must have taken the oreo eyes and the tootsie roll mouth off, and they broke his arm...poor guy)
We started a tunnel, but this was as far as we got because we made a....

fort or what started out as a fort
fort continued
and then we decided to make an igloo
After three days, we finished. By that time there was no way we would be able to make the tunnel system. The condition of the snow was just too bad, but at least we got our igloo done. As a kid this was something that I always dreamed of doing and now I can say I have.

Something to Remember (November 10)

There is a snap on Jason's backpack that is suppose to be used about like Keira is using it in this picture. Well since Keira was little she has always snapped it together so when Jason goes to put on his backpack he can't. At almost three she is still snapping it together and thinks it it hilarious. Daddy on the other hand claims he hates it.

Keira's First Hair Cut (November 8)

We have been wanting to cut Keira's hair for a while, but decided to wait until after Halloween because she was going to be cinderella. Well this is her first hair cut. I just woke up and said I'm going to cut her hair and I did. My confidence started to waiver as I did the first couple of cuts and realized I was cutting the hair of a wiggly two year old. After bribing her with a sucker, she stop wiggling significantly and I was able to finish. This is my first girl hair cut.

Here are the results...

Science (November 6)

We have done a number of different science experiments this last month. For this one we made a volcano out of playdough and a soda bottle. Then we did the vinegar and baking soda trick.

Halloween (October 30)

Keira was Cinderella and Hallie was a lady bug for Halloween. We just ended up going to the church trunk or treat. I couldn't keep up with Keira because she was slipping around people and zooming from one car to the next. Hallie had a death grip on her bucket (it was getting too heavy for her to carry, but she wouldn't let me touch it so she either slid it along the ground or I held her arm up.

Message to Daddy (October 29)

Keira and Hallie helped me make treats for daddy.
Once we were done we decided to cut out a message for him.

Eating With Utensils (October 27)

Hallie starting using utensils....she actually did really well.
Once she got down to the bottom of the bowl she just figured she would put the food on her spoon and then put it in her mouth.

Pumpkins (October 25, 2010)

Hallie was a little apprehensive at first about touching the slimy stuff ("goopy goo" is what we named it this year)
But for anyone that knows here that really isn't her personality. She likes to get nice and grubby...so it didn't take her long to squish her fingers through it.
and then she spent half the night eating it.

Keira was having a blast she started out by coloring on hers. She kept saying goopy goo and Happy Halloween!

At first, she wasn't going to cut hers open so she got some goopy goo out of daddy's pumpkin. I ended up helping her make hers into a smiley face

Plastic Container (October 16, 2010)

We use this to put their toys in. I don't know if they were just bored or what, but this is what they decided to do with it...

Hallie (end of September)

Hallie is obsessed with pushing the stroller...that is all she wants to do when we go to the park. So, I turn the wheels on it and she ends up going around and around in circles.
Hallie hasn't had a lot of hair and she rips the bows out so I kind of gave up on doing anything with her hair. I was out with my sisters and we ended up going to the Hobby Lobby (it was the first time I had gone to the one here). I found a little lace headband for $1 and put it on her to see what she would do. She was so excited...she even screamed at me when I took it off. I was so happy I got it for her and have been clipping little flowers on them for her.

Dirty Dash (September 18, 2010)

Jason ran the Dirty Dash 10K with my brother, my brother's brother in law and sister in law, and one of their friends. They dressed in cut off camo pants, cut off flannel shirts, they duck taped their shoes, and they painted their faces....

Keira got a little dirty herself. She played in the dirt while we waited for them to finish...

At the end they had to crawl through a huge mud pit...

Most everyone including Jason ended up with a mouth full of that yummy water...

Here they are all finished up.
